Someone once asked me, “What is your motivation for staying fit?” My reply to them was, “My clients, family, and friends!” My goals are to help as many people as possible achieve optimal health for themselves. I get great pleasure from watching people who are dear to me starting to look and feel better, both physically and mentally. Knowing that I have somehow impacted their lives for the better is my passion! Any information that I have learned over the years, I am more than happy to share with others in order to see them grow into a happier and healthier person. If I can do it, anyone can!
It’s amazing to see how when you’re feeling at your best, so many positive things tend to happen in your life. Recently, I lost about twenty pounds of bodyfat with the help of my doctor, my trainer for diet along with my intense training, my hormones have finally began to stabilize. I am feeling great and no longer need to take naps during the middle of the day. My thinking is more lucid and I am getting much more accomplished in a day while staying focused on what is important to me. Because of this, my self-confidence has risen again and it shows in all aspects of my life. My friends, clients, and people in the gym have commented on how much of a positive difference they see in me. There is nothing better than working very hard towards a goal and being recognized for your efforts and progress. This alone makes it worth all of the hard work. I now understand the saying “It’s not the actual goal that has been reached that is the reward, but the journey you took to achieve that goal”.
Over the last week I have been getting closer and closer to feeling a 100% again. Today was the first day in a long time that I have felt great. I didn’t realize how awful I had beenfeeling until I began feeling better.
I was starting to believe I was crazy. Always feeling tired, low energy, fogged memory and unexpected weight gain which caused a slight depression. Was it all in my head? That’s what most of the doctors I had gone to had made me feel. Until….. Finally! I met with a holistic doctor who was recommended to me by a staff member at the supplement store I shop at. When I met my new doctor, I knew immediately she was going to be the one who finds out what is really going on with me.
I can go on and on about how many doctors I had visited and how none of them had answers.When they did offer an explanation, my instincts told me otherwise. So much money and time I had been spending and getting nowhere. I felt as if I was running around in circles.
Someone once told me that “when you are trying to achieve something in life (no matter what it is) when you feel as if your not going succeed and you want to give up is when you need to push even harder because you are about succeed.” Most people give up before they get there.
I was determined to get back to feeling the way I should feel. I knew that something was not right. My new doctor finally explained that I have an under-active thyroid and she put me on the appropriate treatment. Today, I feel very grateful that my friends and family stuck behind me throughout this struggle, and it’s helped me to not give up and to keep searching for the answers. On the positive side of this experience, I have learned a ton of new information on hormones, nutrition, allergies, intolerances and much more. This experience has taught me a lot, and I am happy to be in a situation where I can pass my knowledge to others in need. I am thankful I kept fighting and never gave up.

So the other day I had spoken to a friend of mine from the past that I have not seen in about four years. Catching up with him and reminiscing got me thinking about how quickly time goes by and all the things that I have experienced within that passing time.
Sometimes doing this is a good thing because it makes me think about all the lessons that I have learned and all the changes in my life. It’s exciting to look at how much I have grown as a person and how much more i know about myself. I get really pumped up when thinking on these things and the thought of how much more life lessons, changes and growth lies ahead of me.
Everyone should have reflective moments on how their lives have progressed (at least once every few years). Doing so will definitely give you some motivation and maybe even some enlightenment. It’s also fun to think back on all the different stages we go through and how we mature.
I don’t think I can ever understand people who complain about how they are getting older. To me getting older means getting wiser, having more experiences and having seen more of the world. I think these are very attractive and valuable qualities. You never know how your experiences may help others who are going through similar experiences and can benefit from what you learned. It should feel exhilarating to know that with the passage of time you will experience and learn much, and perhaps, help others as they follow a similair path you have already traveled.
I start training with two of the top trainers in Tampa on Thursday. They have trained a few of the female winners of NPC, Universe and few other bodybuilding shows. You may ask why train with trainers if you are one? Well, Even the most elite athletes have trainers. On top of that I also have an appointment with an endocrinologist on the 9th who should help get my hormones and metabolism on track.
This is huge for me because I have been fighting this (what I now know is) an hormonal imbalance for quite some time. Even when I was looking my best it was very difficult for me to stay in great shape and I always seem to feel fatigue. If I am not working out like crazy or slack off even for a sec, I gain weight very quickly and my face brakes out which causes me to be a little depressed.
Being an expert now on diet and exercise, I know with the amount work that I put in I should have much better results then I have been getting. Especially when I am doing everything thing right.
After I have seen a couple of Dr.’s I finally got the diagnosed of having PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrom). So what dose knowing that do for me? Well nothing if I wasn’t determined enough to feel and look the way I should.
Now I am not sure if it’s that I have not had the best luck with Dr.’s or if its that we’re suppose to figure out what we need to do after getting a diagnoses? Which is why I thought we go to the doc in the first place. Either way that brought me to buy a few books on the subject (pcos) and wow! Let me tell you I have learned a lot about hormones. After reading and speaking with friends and family. I finally came the to conclusion that who I need to see was an endocrinologist.
Its sad to know that so many of us are so very out of balance and don’t even know it. We just go threw our days being tired, overweight and sometimes depressed and not knowing why. Or if we do realize that something is a bit off and we go to the Dr. they tell us to see a therapist who wants to put us on meds that latter on cause more problems.
I am glad that I have not given up on this. You have no idea how long I have been fighting this problem or how many Dr.’s I have seen that give me prescriptions that have made the problem worse or that my intuition told me not to settle for what they tell me the problem and solution is. If they even had one that is. I feel like I have been running around in circles and have been spending crazy amounts of money.
What I have learned so far from this whole experience is that you really need to listen to your body! It sounds funny but I am telling you your body gives all the signs as to whats going on inside of you. EVERYTHING you put in to your body has a roll as to how your body reacts and the same goes with exercise. It’s crucial to make sure that you are fueling your body with the vitamins and minerals it needs to keep everything working the way it should. When I say vitamins and minerals I am not just talking about taking pills! I am speaking of whole foods, getting out doors in the sun and being active. Supplement are in addition.
Luckily I am a very physically active girl who has an healthy diet, the drive and the tools to get well. I would hate to see how bad it would have been if I didn’t and I had this imbalance. This thought makes me realize why we have so many sick people on our planet. I hope that with my experience I will be able to help others with similar problems get well. I will keep an update on how my training, eating and next doctor visit is going.
I think with the help of my trainers and getting my hormone levels where there suppose to be I am going to be on fire this up coming year!

I just started using this product in my protien pancakes and other recipes. It has no added flavor.
Last week I made the decision to quit drinking till I lost at least 20lbs. So far I have not had a drink nor have I wanted one. The nice thing about making one change turd a healthier lifestyle is that it becomes a lot easier to make many more. So not only have I stopped drinking. I have also cut out peanut butter and all high glycemic foods from my diet. There is not a big change in the first week but I can tell that soon enough I will notice.
The challenge is thanks giving dinner. I went a head and asked my mom if I could make a few of the dishes that I know that can be the most fattening and high in sugar that way I can still enjoy without family looking at me as if I were dieting.
Today was measurement day and one of my clients has lost a total of 9 1/2 inches in a one month time period.
I have been so impressed by how well my clients are doing that I have decided to stop drinking alcohol till I drop 16 lbs. I understand that this maybe a crazy time to make this decision with the holidays coming up in all, but I don’t think this decision is going to hurt me. If anything it will be a great challenge.
This also made me think of doing a competition to anyone who wants to maintain or lose a few pound over the up coming months. I will be looking for at least eight new or current clients to commit to eight weeks of training and meal plains. Whoever at the end of the eight weeks have made the most progress in strength, inches and fat loss will win a months worth of training on me.
